Teraflex Falcon 3.0 Piggyback Shocks Set for 1996-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4WD w/3-4" lift
Buy Now
Overview
Even the heaviest footed off roaders still need to be able to drive their rig on the street. In many cases that same rig gets the mud dusted off Sunday night and are tasked with commuting from Monday to Friday. To meet the needs of this consumer, Terflex produced their 2.25" Diameter piggyback reservoir 3.0s, that feature the same Digressive valving as their 2.1 line with the added benefits of heat dissipation, resistance towards cavitation, and consistency over rough terrain of an external reservoir. Although not adjustable like their other model lines, the 3.0s offer a solid "middle of the road" tune that works very well in most conditions.
Price

$$$$
Pros
  • Piggyback Reservoir design allows for superior heat dissipation, resistance towards cavitation, and consistency over rough terrain when compared to a standard monotube of similar diameter
  • Vehicle Specific Digressive Valving allows for firm yet compliant ride and improved handling on and off the road
Cons
  • Non Adjustable design leaves some performance to be desired at both ends of the spectrum as the standard tune is a little too soft for extreme off road use and a little firm on the road at lower speeds.
  • Although Digressive valving lends itself to great handling and a nice soft ride over bumps, they do lack some of the support on bigger hits that a linear shock would. The performance mode does allow for greater support however some small bump sensitivity is lost
