Same Day Shock Service - Ford Raptor Fox Internal Bypass Rebuild

Posted by Sean Reyes on

Raptor Performance

When Ford debuted the Raptor in 2010, it shocked the world that Ford would produce such a niche performance vehicle. Fox Racing Shocks on all 4 corners, long travel suspension, this vehicle is meant to push hard in the dirt, while maintaining composure on the road for daily drivers.

And let's be frank, most Raptors on the road today are daily driven, rarely scratching the surface of what they’re capable of in the dirt. Performance shocks require service to maintain damping characteristics, even on-road. Typically 50k miles is the service interval.

A lot of Raptor owners don't have a problem past 50,000 miles of use though, and they’re not wrong. The shocks won't suddenly fail once past a service interval, they’ll just be more squishy than usual, hit the bumpstops more often, and maybe exhibit a bit too much body roll.

Servicing the Shocks

  • The driver needs the vehicle for the daily commute
  • The driver needs the vehicle on the weekend for the family
  • The driver isn’t equipped to uninstall their shocks
  • The driver doesn’t have the time to uninstall, find a box, and ship to a service center
