SDI Shocks Now Available at Shock Surplus

Could they really be that good of shocks though? Let us explain in more detail why this is suspension without compromise, and best of all worlds.

You can have ultra tight handling on-road and mountain highways where stability and composure is key for safety, while still maintaining comfort. That same system then adapts to hitting the dirt, whether providing comfort on the rocky mountain trails, or giving significant damping improvement in high speed rugged environments to keep the vehicle planted.

Some popular shock designs have to sacrifice road handling for high speed off-road performance. Or those that prioritize road handling have to sacrifice off-road damping, comfort, or both. The SDI Active Suspension adapts to exactly what you want, on all 4 corners.

Scenario Adaptations

Sand Wash / Rugged Desert Terrain

When the terrain starts getting choppy, the valving opens up (softens) on individual corners according to compression input to keep the vehicle level, then stiffens immediately on the rebound stroke to absorb the terrain.

Mountain / Rock Climbs

The front shocks will soften up to grab as much terrain as possible, while the rear shocks stiffen up to keep the tires planted and prevent squatting under the load of the vehicle.

Rock / Hill Descents

In the opposite scenario, the front shocks stiffen up to maintain control and prevent dive, while the rear shocks soften up to help prevent forward shifting of weight. The front shocks can also sense when the tires are coming off an obstacle and drooping down to the next piece of terrain, and adapt in real time.

On-Road

Admit it, most people are daily driving their adventure rigs, and 95% of their miles are on pavement. The ECLIK system can also improve the daily drive through maintaining composure, and can be set to handle like a sports car with heavy sway bars. Or you can go full soft for maximum comfort, while also maintaining handling ability, which is sometimes the tradeoff when you want ultra soft shocks.

Overlanding

When (over)loaded with gear and inadequate suspension, the vehicle gets really mushy, lots of sway, dive, squat, all issues that not only compromise handling but also safety. Even the top shock brands can succumb to this without a proper tune. Forget about having fun in the dirt, the shocks can't handle it. With the SDI in-cab controller, you can easily adjust rear loadout to stiffen up the rear shocks to handle the extra load, while maintaining front end comfort and compliance. The system also automatically adjusts for roll and pitch off-road on mountainous terrain, and can also eat up moderate whoops and rugged terrain in higher speed environments.

Game-Changing Suspension

If you’ve taken as many shocks around the block like we have, you’ll know that in most cases there are compromises when you try to balance comfort, handling, and high speed off-road performance on trucks and Jeeps. Every major brand is guilty of this, red blue orange yellow, doesn’t matter.

With the SDI system, it's the best-of-all-worlds with in-cab adjustment, and total customization of each corner of your vehicle. On top of that, the shocks can evolve along with your build, featuring internal circlips that adjust the total shock stroke; you don't see this in any other brand. Granted, the systems are amongst the most expensive we’ve seen, but when you compare a base level SDI ECLIK Shock system at $4500 to other brands, it's about right since you need external bypasses, or secondary shock systems to achieve the same range of performance.

The Universal system that SDI offers can be fitted to any existing Fox, King, Icon, or Bilstein 2.5” shock and remote reservoir setup, essentially turning your static shock system into a dynamically Active Suspension system that leaves your old system behind.
