A Better-Matched Suspension for Everyday Use
The Eibach PRO-TRUCK-LIFT Stage 2R is engineered for the 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and fits both 4WD and RWD models. The goal of this suspension package is straightforward: give your truck more usable capability without making everyday driving feel like an afterthought. By using adjustable front coilovers and matched rear reservoir shocks, the system helps the vehicle settle more cleanly after bumps, feel more predictable on broken pavement, and stay better controlled when the road, load, or terrain changes. For someone new to suspension upgrades, the important takeaway is that this is not simply about making the Silverado 1500 sit taller; it is about giving the suspension a more controlled operating range while preserving the comfort and confidence you still want on normal road miles.
Understanding the Lift and Ride-Height Adjustment
Eibach lists approximately 1.75-4.0 inches of front lift with rear reservoir shock accommodation for approximately 0-1.5 inches of rear lift on listed applications. This gives your Silverado 1500 room to improve tire and ground clearance while keeping the suspension working within Eibach's intended travel range. The practical benefit is that ride height can be matched to the vehicle instead of treated as a one-size-fits-all number. You can use that adjustment to clean up factory rake, create useful room for a larger tire package, or account for added accessory weight where the application allows it. Just as important, lift height is only one part of a suspension setup; keeping the adjustment within Eibach’s intended range helps preserve the travel and geometry the dampers were designed to control. That gives the finished build a more intentional stance while keeping the focus on usable suspension performance.
How the Dampers Improve Control
The 2.0-inch monotube dampers use 46mm pistons with nitrogen-filled Variable Force valving, while the rear external reservoirs add fluid capacity for more consistent damping during repeated impacts and longer stretches of rough terrain. Individually dyno-tested components and heavy-duty bushings support dependable, matched performance. That design is especially valuable when the suspension is working repeatedly, because the additional damper capacity helps manage heat and maintain a more consistent feel over longer sections of rough road or trail. Instead of simply making the ride firmer, the goal is controlled movement: the suspension can react to a sharp input, settle the chassis, and be ready for the next one. For the driver, that translates into a vehicle that feels less busy and is easier to place in more demanding conditions.
Fitment and Real-World Use
This setup is well suited to a Silverado 1500 that has to handle more than one role, from commuting and highway travel to hauling gear, towing where appropriate, jobsite access, gravel roads, camping trips, and moderate trail use. That versatility is what makes the system easy for a first-time suspension buyer to understand: it adds useful capability while keeping the vehicle practical for normal driving. This kit does not work with the MagneRide Damping System. These fitment details matter because drivetrain, trim, engine, and factory suspension equipment can change which lift range and components are correct for the vehicle.

The Expert's Opinion
"After running Eibach Pro-Truck coilovers on our Silverado, Ranger, Tundra, and Bronco back-to-back against Bilstein and Fox, the verdict is consistent: Eibach lands right in the middle - more bump-compliant than Bilstein without the floaty feel you get from Fox. On-road comfort is noticeably better than stock, and trail chatter stays subdued without any shock fade on rougher terrain.
If you want a single kit that handles daily driving and dirt roads without compromise, this is where we'd steer most buyers."
Questions? We've got answers
Eibach shocks are known for delivering a ride that feels more controlled and “dialed in” than stock, without giving up everyday comfort. On the street, most drivers notice a ride that’s slightly firmer than factory but still smooth, with reduced body roll, less nose dive under braking, and a more planted feel overall.
Over bumps and rough roads, Eibach shocks tend to absorb impacts quickly and settle faster, meaning less bouncing or float compared to OEM suspension. Many setups feel “firm but smoother,” because they control the vehicle better instead of letting it continue to rebound after a hit.
Overall, Eibach shocks strike a strong balance for daily drivers—they’re not overly soft or harsh, but instead give you a more responsive, confident ride both on pavement and on light off-road terrain.
Most Eibach shocks themselves are not externally adjustable for compression or rebound. Their PRO-TRUCK Sport and reservoir shocks come with pre-set valving, designed to deliver a balanced ride right out of the box without needing tuning.
However, many Eibach coilover setups do offer adjustability in the form of ride height. Their PRO-TRUCK coilovers use a threaded spring perch, allowing you to raise or lower the front of the vehicle and compensate for added weight like bumpers or gear.
In short, Eibach focuses on set-it-and-go performance, with adjustability mainly limited to ride height rather than on-the-fly damping adjustments.
Click the 'Select Your Vehicle' button above the 'Add to Cart' button to make sure the shocks fit your exact vehicle. If needed, the site will send you to the right shocks for your ride. If your vehicle has been lifted, use the dropdown menu to pick the correct lift height. For example, if you have a Rough Country 6-inch lift kit, choose Front 4–6" and Rear 3–4" (the rear is usually smaller than the front). Still not sure? Our sales team is happy to help.
Eibach shocks are built for long-term durability, and with normal driving, many drivers can expect around 40,000–60,000 miles before performance starts to fade, which is typical for most shock absorbers. Like any suspension component, how long they last depends heavily on driving conditions, load, and how often the vehicle sees rough terrain.
For trucks that spend most of their time on pavement, Eibach shocks can often last longer, and it’s not uncommon to see them continue performing well well beyond that range with proper use and maintenance. In fact, real-world feedback suggests these shocks can approach 100,000 miles with proper care, especially in lighter-duty use cases.
Overall, Eibach shocks are designed to be a reliable, long-lasting upgrade, but like all shocks, they will gradually wear over time. If you start to notice increased bounce, reduced control, or a less stable ride, it’s usually a sign they’re ready for replacement.
