Bilstein 8112 and 8100 Shocks New Applications for 2024
Posted by Sean Reyes on
8112 Zone Control Coilovers - Independent Front Suspension (IFS) trucks like the Tacoma, 4Runner, and Tundra use these in the front. We can probably expect more options coming soon for the F150 and Silverado, which are also IFS
8100 Bypass & Smooth Body - The rear of IFS vehicles will use the 8100 shocks, with or without external bypass. The external bypass versions offer up compression and rebound setting adjustment, which make a tremendous difference in ride quality and control. There are also now smooth body with reservoir options for the Jeep models, without bypass functionality. These will still perform exceptionally well off-road, but the setting adjustment is absent.
See the difference between internal and external bypass shocks.
If you’re debating between a long list of manufacturers to upgrade your suspension with, we certainly know it can be dizzying to decipher the differences and what it means for your setup. We’re trying to test as many of these shocks as possible, and bringing you that information in a features-and-facts only point of view. We’re currently testing the 8100 External Bypass setup for the Wrangler JL, and its going fantastic - these shocks are stellar and so far they’ve taken everything we’ve thrown at them.
Here’s the current running application for both the 8112 and 8100 shocks from Bilstein; Updated 10/17/2021
