King Shocks in Stock

Posted by Sean Reyes on

That's the reality of buying the most in-demand suspension brand around right now. King Shocks earned that demand the hard way: decades of desert racing, hand-built shocks and a reputation for being rebuildable for life. When a brand is that good, everyone wants in at the same time.

The Quick n' Dirty: Lead times on King OE-fit applications are stretching to almost 8 months. We have new King inventory landing every month, and a lot of the popular fitments are on the shelf right now. Scroll down to see what's in stock for your truck. Don't see it? Call or chat with us and we'll get you a real ETA or get an order in.

Why Are King Lead Times So Long Right Now?

The short answer: racers come first. And that's exactly how it should be.

Fall is when dune and desert season kicks off. That's when King's custom shop and race program take up the most room on the production floor. Race teams need valving changes, rebuilds and new setups between races. Serious enthusiasts are ordering custom setups for the season. All of that eats into the same shop capacity that builds the bolt-on, OE-fit shocks for your Tacoma or Bronco.

So the OE-fit applications (the direct-fit coilovers and reservoir shocks built for stock or near-stock trucks) slide down the list. Right now that means lead times of almost 8 months on a lot of popular fitments.

That's Not a Knock on King

It's their heritage. King was built in the dirt, for the people who drive in it the hardest. They take care of the racers and the serious enthusiasts with everything they've got. That race-first culture is the reason your OE-fit King coilover rides the way it does. The valving, the heat capacity and the rebuildability all trickle down from that program.

You don't get the King ride without the King priorities. You just need a smarter way to get your hands on a set.

How Shock Surplus Keeps Kings on the Shelf

We don't wait for a customer order to get in line. We keep King orders in the queue all year, so new inventory lands at our warehouse every month. The shelf keeps turning over, and the list below changes with it.

What that means for you:

  • If it's in stock, it ships now. No 8-month wait, no "we'll email you when it's ready."
  • If it's not in stock, it may already be on the way. Our next shipment could have your fitment. Ask us before you place a backorder anywhere else.
  • You're buying from people who run this stuff. We've put Kings on our own trucks. Steve's Ranger, Ol' Plan B, was one truck we almost sold, until the Kings went on - check that review. If you have questions about valving, lift height or which King setup fits how you drive, we've been there.

Don't See Your Truck? Let Us Know.

This list is a snapshot, not the whole story. We carry King fitments for a lot more than these 20 platforms, and new inventory lands every month.

If your fitment isn't listed or shows sold out, call or chat with our team. We'll do one of two things:

  1. Give you a real ETA. We'll check whether your shocks are already on an incoming shipment and tell you when to expect them.
  2. Get an order in for you. If they aren't on the way yet, we'll get your fitment into our next King order so you're in line now, not 8 months from now.

Not sure which King setup fits how you drive? Ask us that too. We've driven them.

Phone: (213) 433-3616

We'll see you out on the trails.

FAQ

How long is the lead time on King Shocks right now?
Almost 8 months on many OE-fit King applications. Dune and trail season pushes King's race program and custom shocks to the front of the line, so direct-fit King coilovers and reservoir shocks take longer to build. Shock Surplus has King inventory landing monthly, so many popular fitments ship right away.

Why does King prioritize race and custom shocks over OE-fit shocks?
Because that's who King is. King Shocks was built around off-road racing. Taking care of race teams and serious enthusiasts first is part of its culture, and the valving and durability in its OE-fit shocks come out of that same race program.

Does Shock Surplus have King Shocks in stock?
Yes. Shock Surplus currently stocks King Shocks for the Ford Bronco, Toyota Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner, Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator, Silverado and Sierra 1500 and HD trucks, Ford Raptor and more. New King inventory arrives every month.

What if the King Shocks for my truck aren't in stock?
Call or chat with Shock Surplus at (213) 433-3616. We'll check incoming King shipments for your fitment and give you an ETA, or put your order into our next King order.

Are King Shocks worth the wait?
In our experience, yes, if you drive in the dirt. King OE-fit shocks bring race-proven valving and heat capacity to a bolt-on package. If you mostly drive on pavement, a 2.0 or monotube upgrade may do the job for less money. Ask us and we'll be straight with you.
