Shocks don't fit, truck still leans, Shock Surplus offers ZERO customer support
First off the rear shocks do not fit at all, the bushings sent don't work with the Tacoma and required major customization. Despite promised "lean correction" 500miles later my trucks still leans. On top of that i now hear weird "creaking" sounds when truck is stationary and the steering wheel is turned, however the worst part of it all is the customer support shock surplus. It takes 3 days on average for an email response from a laptop jockey with ZERO suspension experience who will suddenly stop responding to your emails for no reason. At this point i am consider filing a complaint with my credit card company since i did not receive what i paid for.
Perfect and have held up
I’ve had this kit on my truck for nearly two years now with no issue. The ride is smooth and it looks fantastic, I’ve gotten asked countless times what the lift is. I had done a ton of research and didn’t plan on doing any insane overlanding when purchased.. only now do I come back to double check if it can withstand another 350 lbs of weight as I want to add bed racks and pretty full camping load. I think it can take it. Easily the best bang for your buck. I added the icon progressive AAL for an even finish.
best bang for your buck, Shock Surplus rocks!
Eibach pro truck 2.0 paired with rear Bilstien 5125
Love the paired setup so far. Installation was easy and direct as usual. The comfort is nice and the adjustable coilover option is a plus to help eliminate the Tacoma driver side lean. The 5125 helped with rear travel, paired with allpro offroad expedition 2.0 3” leaf springs. This allows a slight rake so when outfitting the rear end with weight it tends to come back level and holds nicely with shock absorption.
Decent cost-effective upgrade
I noticed a significant positive difference in handling and cornering after installing the shocks. We'll see how it does on the trails.
